Meet The Farmers

We prioritize local farms that employ regenerative, organic, biodynamic, and nutrient-density practices. For us local is within 200 miles from Boston.  Whenever possible we purchase produce and herbs grown within the city limits of Boston. Grains and beans are provided by farms within the Northeast Grain Shed.  Produce is sourced from farms within Farmers with the Southern New England Farmers of Color Collaborative’s Network, Sibling Organic Crops, Allandale Farm, Ward’s Berry Farm, Seona Ngufor Farm, and Agric Organics Urban Farm. Stony Creek Farm, Copicut Farm, and Oake Knoll Farm provide meat.

Allandale Farm

At Allandale Farm, we are grounded in our commitment to the land, our community and our unique history. We are proud to connect Boston to its agricultural roots by sustainably growing plants and produce from seed to store. Our path forward is informed by the path we have travelled as we strive to maintain sustainable agricultural and business practices, to invest in our employees and to honor our heritage. By serving our community with events that entertain and educate and by inspiring our youth to be the next generation of stewards, we are your farm in the city.

Ward's Berry Farm

Ward’s Berry Farm is a family farm located in Sharon, MA. Brothers Jim & Bob Ward have run the farm since 1982, offering the finest quality fresh picked fruits and veggies. Their mother Ann’s family favorite recipes are used daily to bake our fresh cookies, muffins, breads and pies sold in the store.

Seona Ngufor Farm

Seona immigrated from Cameroon, Africa. While establishing her new life in Massachusetts, Seona pined for the farm she had known in Cameroon. Although farming in New England was much different from the year-round growing weather in her native country. Thanks to the help of New Entry Sustainable Farming Project, Seona planted a seed of ambition in her new home soil. Seona credits New Entry with helping her in numerous aspects of the farming process, especially crop planning, business planning, and finding a market in which to sell her produce. After graduating from New Entry's Farm Business Planning Course in 2007, Seona began her farming endeavors on one of New Entry's incubator training farm sites in Dracut, MA. Whatever produce she doesn't sell through New Entry Food Hub or directly to members of several immigrant communities in Lowell, Seona loads into her minivan and unloads at the Lowell farmers' market.
